Sarcoma - Featured Clinical Trials

The following list shows Featured Clinical Trials for a specific type of cancer. You may also want to view:

1.  Tomotherapy for Patients with Limited Metastatic Cancer
(Posted: 04/21/2009) - In this trial, patients with limited metastatic tumors outside the brain will be treated with a type of radiation therapy called helical tomotherapy.

2.  Refining Treatment for Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors
(Posted: 08/05/2008) - In this randomized trial, patients with unresectable or metastatic GIST will receive imatinib therapy with or without the addition of bevacizumab. Researchers hope that the combination of imatinib and bevacizumab will help extend progression-free survival.

3.  HIV Protease Inhibitor Therapy for Liposarcoma
(Posted: 09/11/2007) - In this trial, researchers will test an HIV protease inhibitor called nelfinavir in patients with advanced liposarcoma to see if it helps shrink their tumors. Nelfinavir has shown the ability to inhibit liposarcoma cells in laboratory studies.

4.  Sorafenib for Kaposi's Sarcoma
(Posted: 01/30/2007) - In this trial, patients with either AIDS-related or non-AIDS-related Kaposi's sarcoma (KS) will be treated with varying doses of the drug sorafenib (Nexavar®) for up to 54 weeks to examine the safety of the drug and determine how it is processed in patients with KS who are receiving antiretroviral therapy.

5.  Treating Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumors
(Posted: 09/12/2006) - In this trial, patients with unresectable malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNSTs) will be treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by surgery and/or radiation therapy and more chemotherapy. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy is given to reduce the size of the MPNSTs prior to the administration of definitive local therapy (surgery and/or radiation therapy).
